Holiday Shopping (Locally): A Magical Experience

Time to face facts, folks: The winter season is coming soon to Wisconsin, which brings along the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Between school events, dance recitals, holiday baking and more, buying gifts can start to feel like a chore. But, what if there was a place you could go where time slows down and shopping doesn’t seem like another item on your to-do list?

We would like to welcome you to that place:
Baraboo, Wisconsin.

Want to start your shopping with a hot beverage? Downtown Baraboo has multiple coffee shops, all with their unique style and brew. If you have a hard time figuring out which shop you’d like to try, we suggest picking one in the morning, and then take the needed coffee break partway through the day to try another. Lunch will also be a fun experience. The restaurants around the historic and lively square have the best wait-staff around, and all of the food is delicious. You will not be disappointed with whichever place you choose.

Shopping locally becomes a magical enjoyable experience in our town, and we have so many different places to explore. Want to find a gift that will take someone back down memory lane? Then head over to Eclectic Treasures, Oak Street Antiques, or Spin Shack, where you will find vinyls, tin lunch boxes, antique toys and knick-knacks, plus so much more! Giving a memory is one of the best and most meaningful gifts for some, and these stores work hard to give you just that.

We have stores meant for specific interests as well! Have a person who loves to cook or bake? Bekah Kate’s is the place to go for the best and most unique kitchen products you need. Want to add to someone’s wardrobe? You will find the perfect items at Recycled Sally’s and Angels and Arrows Boutique. Need a gift for a bookworm or child? The Village Booksmith and Just Imagine Toys have an array of books and educational items to look through. Gifts to up the decor for the home? Countryside Refind and Corner Drug Pharmacy have everything you need. The list can go on and on, but we think you should come see for yourself.

If you want to make your trip to Baraboo even more special, and see why we are noted for being a place unlike the rest, plan your trip around one of our many special holiday events! November 18th is when our town kicks off the holiday season with our annual Christmas Light Parade, with this year’s theme being “Downtown Dreamland.” Think classic Christmas mornings as seen on “A Christmas Story” or pictured in an iconic Norman Rockwell sketching. The second weekend in December is always the Very Merry Holiday Fair, just a few blocks away from downtown. And every Saturday, a jolly Santa Claus visits with children inside the historic Al. Ringling Theatre, along with free horse drawn wagon rides that showcases the beauty and wonder that is our Historic Downtown.

So pack up the family, or come with friends, and experience the magic of small town shopping in Downtown Baraboo.
