Downtown Baraboo Operations Coordinator Job Posting

Imagine starting your morning by helping a new downtown business prepare for a grand opening. By lunchtime, you’re coordinating volunteers for an upcoming Wine Walk. That afternoon, you’re meeting with local business owners, finalizing details for the upcoming Christmas Promotion, and making sure everything is in place for another memorable Christmas season. If creating a vibrant downtown where businesses thrive and people love to gather sounds rewarding, we’d love to meet you.

Downtown Baraboo Inc. is seeking an organized, energetic, and community-minded Operations Coordinator to help bring our downtown to life. Working alongside our Board of Directors, downtown businesses and other community stakeholders, you’ll turn ideas into action by coordinating events, supporting local businesses, building partnerships, and keeping the organization running smoothly.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate the daily operations of Downtown Baraboo Inc.
  • Plan and execute signature events, including Wine Walks, Fair on the Square, the Christmas Light Parade and more.
  • Support membership recruitment, engagement, and sponsor relationships.
  • Manage financial administration, membership billing, and event budgets.
  • Collaborate with volunteers, committees, businesses, and community partners to create an exceptional downtown experience.

We’re Looking For Someone Who Is

  • Organized, proactive, and dependable.
  • An excellent communicator and relationship builder.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Passionate about community development and supporting local businesses.
  • Excited to roll up their sleeves and make things happen.

Qualifications: Three or more years of experience in nonprofit administration, event coordination, project management, downtown management, community development, or a related field. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and standard office technology is required. Experience with website content management systems is preferred.

This is a full-time exempt position averaging approximately 50 hours per week. Evening and weekend work is required during events and seasonal activities.

Compensation and Benefits: $53,000–$63,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience plus 2 weeks of paid time off (PTO) and 6 paid holidays.
