The Al. Ringling Theatre has been called "America's Prettiest Playhouse." Built in 1915 at a cost of $100,000, the theatre was offered as a gift to the community by Al. Ringling, the eldest of the five famous Ringling Brothers and is currently owned and operated by the Al. Ringling Theatre Friends, a non-profit organization.  The theatre continues to present movies, live professional touring artists and community events.  Discover more about the Theatre's history and current program schedule by visiting our website.  From Memorial Day to Labor Day, guided tours are held daily at 11:00 am.

Historic 1860 home offering individual or small group tours for a donation.  Tours are offered by appointment only.  The house is an outstanding example of Gothic Revival architecture and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Historic House Association of America.  The home is furnished throughout with period antiques.

The Sauk County Historical Society Museum is housed in the historic Jacob Van Orden Mansion, built in 1903.


Visit our beautiful 1902 Tudor Revival mansion. Original woodwork, fixtures and wall coverings offer a glimpse of turn of the century tastes and styles.

The second floor county history museum examines Sauk County history from geological formation through life in the 1960's.

Free admission. Open 12-5 Tuesday through Saturday all year long
